KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Perry Harley-Davidson is planning a 50-mile charity memorial ride on May 21 to benefit the victims of the February mass-shooting that left six dead in Kalamazoo.
Randi Knill, who is with the dealership on Sprinkle Road, said on-site registration will start at 9 a.m. that morning. Kick stands will be up at 11 a.m.
“We’re going to have music there and we’re going to have a barbcue going all day,” Knill said.
She also said the route is nearly set.
“We’re going to go through Galesburg, then Kalamazoo, Mattawan, then back to Kalamazoo,” Knill said. “We definitely wanted to hit Mattawan, because some of the victims were from there.”
General Manager Jill Perry thinks they can get around 400 riders.
“It just was overwhelming, the success that we had with people saying that they absolutely wanted to be a part of this,” Perry said.
The event is open all motorcycle makes and models. The single-rider registration fee is $10, while the passenger fee is $15.
