KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A group that helps in the fight against AIDS is urging southwest Michigan residents to dine out for a good cause on Thursday.
Thirty-six establishments will donate a portion of their food and drink revenue to Community AIDS Resource and Education Services.
“Most of our restaurants are donating 25 percent,” Kelly Doyle, the executive director of the CARES chapter in southwest Michigan, said. “We have some specialty shops, like Confections with Convictions, that are donating 35 percent.”
The event is called “Dining Out for Life.”
Doyle said the fundraiser is entering its eighth year. She also said it’s the organization’s biggest fundraiser.
“We provide HIV services in 11 counties in southwest Michigan.” Doyle said. “Our goal is to work with people living with HIV and help them have optimal medical care.”
We have the list of participating restaurants here.
