CONVIS TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A police officer with a nose for crime has busted a Griffin, Ind., man on drug and gun charges.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputy stopped the man Saturday during the noon hour, because he was speeding southbound on Interstate 69 near L Drive North. When the driver rolled down the window, the deputy caught the distinctive scent of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment.
A search of the car turned up seven marijuana plants and a loaded handgun.
The 30-year-old driver was arrested and booked into the Calhoun County Jail for possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
He may be arraigned on Monday.
