KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — House lawmakers say they anticipate votes on state budget bills next week.
Rep. Jon Hoadley, D-Kalamazoo, said House votes on school and government budgets will come Tuesday and Wednesday. Work will then occur in the opposite chamber.
“After the House votes on their budget, the Senate needs to vote, then we need to come together in confernece to work out a final product,” Hoadley said.
Hoadley also said he’s fine with chunks of the budget as it’s currently written.
“Democrats pushed and Republicans agreed to some changes, particularly with veterans homes and around rape and sexual assault survivor funding,” Hoadley said.
The budget for most state departments currently stands at nearly $39 billion.
