MARSHALL (WKZO-AM) — A driver is dead after a tractor trailer rear-ended a passenger vehicle on eastbound Interstate 94 near the Interstate 69 interchange.
It happened after 2 a.m. Friday, prompting a shutdown of the freeway. Investigators say the car was in the right lane, possibly going in reverse when it was struck and pushed through the cable guardrails.
The driver, a 59-year-old man from Vancouver, Wash., was pronounced dead at the scene and has yet to be identified.
The driver of the commercial vehicle was not hurt.
Investigators said alcohol could be a factor. The freeway has been reopened.
