KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Michigan State Police have just released information on the interrogation of the Uber driver accused of killing six people during three separate shootings in Kalamazoo.
Jason Dalton, 45, opened up to interrogators two days after the Feb. 20 shootings. Up to that point, he had refused to talk.
He said he was in an altered state of reality when he went home to get his guns prior to the first shooting. He also said he couldn’t help the first shooting victim, 25-year-old Tiana Carruthers, after she was struck with multiple rounds at the Gull Meadow Townhomes because the Uber app had full control over him at that stage.
He also questioned how Carruthers could survive being shot so many times.
He also said he remembered shooting the four people he’s accused of killing at the Cracker Barrel in Texas Township and 14-year-old survivor Abigail Kopf.
Dalton said he felt remorse after the rampage.
