KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Foreclosure numbers in Kalamazoo and Portage were a bit lower to start 2016.
Financial information firm CoreLogic says the foreclosure rate was 0.53 percent in January, which is fractionally lower than the 0.66 mark seen in January 2015. The 90-day delinquency rate was also down nearly three-quarters of a percentage point compared to figures from last year.
Kalamazoo’s foreclosure rate is slightly higher than the Michigan average and is about half of the national average.
Local home prices were also 3.2 percent higher in January.
