BRADLEY (WKZO-AM) — Michigan State Police are trying to piece together why a suspected armed robber shot himself to death before being taken into custody Saturday afternoon.
Allegan County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a robbery at the Admiral station in Martin at about 3:45 p.m. A deputy spotted a vehicle matching the description given by employees at the gas station and attempted a traffic stop.
The suspects bolted and after a short chase, crashing on 10th Street north of 129th Avenue in Bradley.
As officers approached the wrecked vehicle, one of the two suspects shot himself. The second was taken into custody.
Michigan State Police have taken over the shooting investigation.
Names have not been released.
