BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A federal sweep of wanted fugitives nationwide has resulted in the arrest of a man believed to be responsible for a violent robbery at a gas station in Battle Creek.
The weapon of choice used by the robber was a hammer, which was used to repeatedly hit the store clerk at the Citgo station on Capital Avenue three days after last Christmas. The suspect, Navjot Singh, was found hiding in a concealed attic area in a house in Queens in New York earlier this month.
Police quickly learned who the suspect was. Apparently, he was a relative of the victim.
