KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — It’s Oberon Day in Kalamazoo and around the Midwest, as the seasonal craft beer goes on sale for the first time this year.
Shakespeare’s and Old Burdick’s tapped the first kegs at midnight premiere parties. Bell’s Eccentric Cafe will start selling it from the tap at 9:00 a.m. Monday.
Sweetwater’s Donut Mill is producing an Oberon-inspired donut that offers some of the same tastes with sprinkles and frosting that match the color scheme of the distinctive Oberon label. We’re told no actual Oberon was used in its recipe.
The unique pastries will be available at the bakery’s locations in Kalamazoo and Battle Creek.
