KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Spring officially arrived about 12:30 a.m. Sunday with the passing of the Vernal Equinox, as the earth and the moon does a slow gravitational waltz through the Solar System providing the seasons that shape life as we know it.
Trees are budding, spring bulb flowers are growing and an egg has appeared in the nest created for Kalamazoo’s peregrine falcons overlooking the downtown from the top of the Fifth Third Bank building in Kalamazoo.
March Madness has arrived and been a big disappointment for Michigan basketball fans. When does the baseball season begin?
Just occasionally, it’s been warm enough to roll down the car window and leave the jacket at home.
The equinox arrives when the sun travels directly over the equator, giving both the northern and southern hemispheres an equal dose of energy. We will be seeing more of the sun and sooner than we would like to admit, we will be finding reasons to complain about the heat.
Mother Nature apparently didn’t get the memo, though. We’ll be a bit on the chilly side as the work week begins.
