BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A 27-year-old spent the weekend in the Calhoun County Jail after police say he got drunk and attempted to outrun officers during a chase Saturday morning.
The Battle Creek Police Department said they spotted the driver racing down Emmett Street at a high rate of speed.
During the pursuit, he blew through a red light and nearly struck another car. He finally gave up on Emmett Street near Wagner Drive.
He was booked for fleeing and eluding and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
