BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — The Secretary of State has ordered a Battle Creek auto repair shop to stop taking in customers, claiming their license expired in April 2011 and hasn’t been renewed since then.
Cubby’s Auto Repair on Dickman Road has been slapped with a cease-and-desist order.
There’s no indication there have been complaints about the business, just that they let their license expire.
Under Michigan law, a customer is entitled to recover any amount paid to an unregistered facility for vehicle repairs.
The owner could be charged with a misdemeanor if he does not comply.
