KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A seven-year-old had to be taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after a large, wind-blown branch fell on him Wednesday afternoon.
The boy had just gotten off a Kalamazoo Public Schools bus and was walking home near the corner of Wallace and Kenilworth avenues when the large branch snapped off a dead tree and fell on him, knocking him to the ground.
He was pinned, but not crushed by the large branch.
He was kept motionless underneath until it could be removed so his neck could be stabilized by first-responders as a precaution before he was transported.
The child’s current condition hasn’t been disclosed.
