KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — It’s a Kalamazoo original and a St. Patrick’s Day tradition.
The Kalamazoo Wings were the first hockey team to paint their ice green for the Irish-themed holiday. On Thursday, and for the 35th-straight year, the tradition will live on when the Brampton Beasts come to town for the world-famous green ice game.
The K-Wings will also be wearing special St. Patrick’s Day jerseys, which will be auctioned off at the end of game. The proceeds will to the “Help Now!” fund benefiting the victims of last month’s shooting spree.
The puck drops at 7 p.m.
