BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A Battle Creek man who allegedly took a shot at a police officer during a traffic stop on Saturday has been charged with seven felonies.
He is going to have a tough case to defend, given the hair-raising dash-cam video released of the crime and the chase that followed.
Battle Creek police say Dariyone Clark-Brown was chased to his mother’s home on Coolidge Street, where he holed up for four hours. He was eventually flushed out of a false wall hidden behind a bookcase by a police dog.
Clark-Brown has been charged with attempted murder, fleeing and eluding and a number of gun felonies.
The 21-year-old has a couple of assault and battery charges on his rap sheet, and never obtained a driver’s license.
He is being held at the Calhoun County Corrections Center on $250,000 bond.
The officer was not hit, but got close enough to the gun when it was fired to suffer hearing loss. He is said to be recovering.
