KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — There has apparently been another shooting in Kalamazoo.It was unrelated to the events that took place Saturday night. Public Safety responded to Berkshire Drive in the Arcadia Neighborhood just west of the WMU Campus on a report of a burglary that apparently turned into a confrontation between the homeowner and the thieves at about 9:15 Sunday night.
Officers found the apparent homeowner in the 900 block of Berkshire suffering from a non-life- threatening bullet wound. He was transported to Bronson Emergency for treatment.
Detectives may have a lead on the identity of one of the suspects and are now looking for that man and a second man who was involved with the incident.
The two suspects were able to escape a police perimeter set up to seal off the neighborhood and a search by K-9’s.
WMU issued an online warning to students to stay out of the area.
