VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A 44-year-old Missouri man had to be rushed to a hospital in St. Joseph after being cut from an SUV that struck a tree in Keeler Township.
The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office says a passerby spotted the wreckage in the 59000 block of County Road 352 and called 911 before 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say the road was snowy at the time of the collision and four 24-ounce cans of beer were found inside the vehicle. Three of the cans were empty, while the fourth was nearly empty.
The victim also smelled of alcohol, according to a press release.
The driver suffered minor hand, head, and facial injuries. Deputies are seeking drunk driving charges.
