VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A Van Buren County man who did not respond well to getting dumped by his girlfriend will spend the next 18 months on probation after sending over 100 threatening emails to the woman and her family.
Chad Ehrich, 23, avoided harsher charges under new anti-terrorism laws after it was determined he was not a serious threat.
He also threatened President Obama and other elected officials during his rants.
Erich is getting therapy, and, as a condition of his probation, he must stay away from his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend and abstain from all social media.
A violation of his probation could result in a year in the Van Buren County Jail.
