KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The Kalamazoo Valley chapter of Habitat for Humanity says it’s expecting another sellout crowd for its annual “Habi Hour” on Feb. 23 at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe in downtown Kalamazoo.
Don Jones is with the non-profit and said they wouldn’t be able build low-income housing in the area without the fundraiser.
“It takes land, it takes families, it takes talent, but it also takes money to pull that off, Habi Hour is one of the ways we get that money in the door to get the materials we needs,” Jones said. “That’s what the fundraiser is all about.”
Jones said the agency plans to construct or repair 20 homes this year.
The event starts after 5 p.m. and will feature live music and multiple auctions. Tickets are $35 and available online.
