THREE RIVERS (WKZO-AM) — A rear-end collision on U.S. 131 north of Three Rivers on Monday has killed one person and injured three others.
St. Joseph County Sheriff’s deputies say three people were stopped at a light in a sedan, when a driver in a van plowed into the car’s rear bumper. The impact killed the person in the back seat of the car and left the others, including both drivers, injured and hospitalized.
Investigtators say it appears the driver of the van was distracted and wasn’t paying attention to what was ahead.
Criminal charges may be filed in the case.
