BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — A dozen units are listed as a total loss and another six have smoke damage after a fire at an apartment building in Emmett Township.
It happened at the Lakeside Apartments on East Michigan Avenue before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
No injuries were reported, though one person had to be rescued from the third floor. The Red Cross is working to find temporary lodging for the displaced.
