MARTIN (WKZO-AM) — A junior varsity basketball coach at Martin high School is on administrative leave after he was charged with sending an explicit message with pictures to one of his players late Saturday.
Allegan County Undersheriff Frank Baker called it “extremely inappropriate,” but wouldn’t elaborate. The student informed his parents, who contacted authorities.
Raymond Brenner II, 24, has been charged with accosting a minor for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime.
The arrest has shaken some in the small town. Brenner graduated from Martin High School just a few years ago after playing on the basketball team himself. He is a hometown product with a local family.
There was nothing on his record to tip off school administrators that there might be an issue.
Brenner posted bond Monday and is no longer in custody.
