ALBION (WKZO-AM) — An Albion man who had spent most of his life in prison will be spending the rest of it in a cell after an appeal of his 2014 second-degree murder conviction was denied.
Prosecutors say 49-year-old Jackie McConnell killed girlfriend Donna Frost after an argument turned violent. He then dressed her body and drove her around in his car in freezing temperatures before eventually dumping it in a hole at a tree farm where he worked. He then fled the state.
He had argued a number of technical issues involving the way his trial was conducted, but all were dismissed on Friday.
He was sentenced to 60 to 90 years in prison, making him eligible for a parole when he’s 108.
