PLAINWELL (WKZO-AM) — Disgraced former state representative Cindy Gamrat says she is a victim of surveillance abuse and is working with an Ohio consultant to do seminars on the subject for others who fear they’re being watched or recorded.
She isn’t talking about the government spying on our lives, necessarily. She said, more often than not, it’s a romantic partner, spouse, co-worker, relative, or somebody else they know, but they can also be a stranger.
In her case, it was her husband, Joe Gamrat, who found out she was having an affair. He was the mysterious emailer that Todd Courser claimed was “blackmailing” them, demanding they either resign or face the humiliation of having the affair revealed.
She said surveillance equipment has gotten smaller, cheaper and easier to use in recent years.
The goal of her operation is to set up a directory that can be sought out for help if a person feels they’re being watched.
