ANTWERP TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A 16-year-old who had recently escaped custody is back in juvenile hall after Van Buren County Sheriff’s investigators say he held up an Antwerp Township business with a BB gun.
Deputies spotted the child pointing the firearm at a person inside the building when they arrived at the scene in the 24000 block of Red Arrow Highway after 6 p.m. Sunday, and say he attempted to hide the gun before surrendering.
Investigators say the teenager drove to the scene in a car stolen from Battle Creek. They also say the child may have broken into several buildings and may have stolen multiple vehicles before the hold-up.
The teenager was booked into the Allegan Juvenile Home.
