PINE GROVE TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Another criminal with a gun has been taken off the streets by a Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputy who was concerned about a car with a broken headlight this weekend.
During the traffic stop, the deputy noticed the strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
That triggered a search, the discovery of dope and a loaded .32 caliber semi-automatic hand gun with a few extra rounds of ammunition and a pipe for smoking grass.
A background check revealed the driver had a history of previous felony convictions as well.
The 38-year-old suspect from Gobles will face multiple gun and drug charges when he is formally charged.
