BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Prosecutors in Calhoun County have reduced the charges against a student at Springfield Middle School who stabbed an alleged bully in the neck with a pencil, after she was verbally abused with vulgar language on a Battle Creek school bus.
She had been charged with felony assault. Now, she faces misdemeanor assault and battery charges.
The boy, 12, was not seriously injured.
The girl has been suspended for ten days and could face expulsion next week. The girl’s parents also want the boy to be disciplined for bullying.
