SPRINGFIELD (WKZO-AM) — An assault in Springfield has led to a drug seizure, but it’s not likely the defendants will seek a jury trial when the time comes for plea bargaining.
One of the suspects made the jobs of detectives and prosecutors easier by recording the crime on a cell phone. Law enforcement is now in possession of that video.
The victim filed a complaint, saying she had been held captive for three hours at gunpoint by an ex-boyfriend and three others at an apartment at the Wyndtree Townhomes on Greenbriar Lane. She told police they threatened her with a sawed-off shotgun.
Warrants have been issued charging three of the suspects with a variety of crimes, including possession of marijuana and prescription drugs, assault, unlawful detention and possession of an illegal weapon.
