KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A 16-year-old boy is jailed after police say he fired a round with a stolen handgun during an argument in north Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo Public Safety says it happened as the child was leaving a home in the 600 block of West Ransom Street at around 5 p.m. Monday. Investigators say the child also pointed the gun at the 19-year-old victim during the verbal altercation.
A police dog later tracked the teenager to a residence blocks away from the scene, where he was taken into custody. He was later booked into the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home on felony gun charges.
Investigators say the weapon was reported stolen out of Coldwater.
