COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s detectives say the gunpoint robbery of a Comstock Township liquor store early Monday has left a clerk hospitalized with injuries to his face and head.
It happened after 1 a.m. at J&B Discount Liquor, after the robber entered the store in the 5000 block of Gull Road, walked behind the counter and pulled the gun. He then assaulted the clerk and ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Kalamazoo Public Safety police dogs tracked the man’s scent to tire tracks that were leaving a nearby parking lot.
Investigators say the suspect is between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 with a medium or stocky build. He was wearing a black coat and a blue scarf over his face at the time of the incident. Those with more information are being urged to contact the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office at (269) 383-8748 or Silent Observer at (269) 343-2100.
