ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – The Allegan County Sheriff’s Department didn’t immediately comment on the discovery of a body on Saturday afternoon near Little John Lake southwest of the city of Allegan. Family members of Joshua Thomson posted on a gofundme.com page that, “As many may know there was a search to locate Josh Thomson today. Josh has been found and we are now in need of donations for the funeral.”
The 22-year-old man had been missing since December 30th when he left his grandmother’s home near the lake, apparently voluntarily. An autopsy is planned to determine a cause of death, and a private investigator retained by the family says that the circumstances surrounding the entire matter have not been deemed suspicious.
A Saturday evening vigil at Jaycee Park in Allegan was scheduled, and the gofundme site is now seeking financial support for Thomson’s funeral.
