KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Around 100 people attended a vigil for a 17-year-old boy who was shot to death inside a home on Lay Boulevard in Kalamazoo.
Green and white balloons were launched for Temetrion Hegler late Thursday in front of the home where he was allegedly killed by his step-grandfather, 53-year-old Bruce Embry.
The Loy Norrix High School senior was hoping to attend Michigan State University after his graduation.
Embry is expected to be formally charged Friday. He was arrested moments after the shooting Wednesday afternoon.
