WHITE PIGEON (WKZO-AM) — Homeowners and businesses in the village of White Pigeon are being told not to drink the tap water unless it’s been boiled, after water samples turned up higher-than-expected levels of E. coli.
Three of the five samples turned up the bacteria, which suggests there could be other issues with the water supply.
Village officials are now testing for other biological contaminants, chlorinating and flushing the system, and will continue treating, flushing and testing until the system is safe again.
In the meantime, any water you ingest, use for food preparation or dish washing should either be brought to a boil for a minute or bought from the grocery store until the water system is once again declared to be safe, officials in the village said
