KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A 22-year-old Kalamazoo man has been busted after he left a large crowd that gathered at the corner of Patterson and Woodward just 3-hours and 45-minutes into the New Year Friday morning with a hand gun.
Police were actually responding to calls about shots fired in the area, and spotted the subject carrying a gun in his hand as he was walking away.
He tucked it into a pocket, and then discarded the gun when he saw he was being pursued by Public Safety officers.
The loaded gun was recovered and a serial number check showed that it had been stolen.
The suspect is being held for felony firearm, resisting and carrying a concealed weapon.
