KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A 14-year-old could face multiple charges, some of them felonies, after he was caught driving a stolen car, led police on a chase and then crashed the vehicle.
Public Safety had been on the lookout for the Ford Focus 4-door that was taken from a construction site downtown on Tuesday. It was spotted on North Street about 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.
When Public Safety attempted a traffic stop, the car sped off, crashing on Simpson Street.
The four young occupants ran off on foot.
The 14-year-old, who was driving and his 13-year-old front seat passenger were both sniffed out by a police tracking dog, and arrested.
The other two escaped but are being sought.
