DALLAS (WKZO) — Local bars were packed on New Year’s Eve, nothing unusual there, but this year many partiers were hoping to celebrate more than just the arrival of 2016.
Many of them were also hoping to be able to celebrate a victory by Michigan State over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Cotton Bowl, and a bid for the Collegiate National Championship.
It was not to be.
The Spartan offense was stymied by the Tide defenders, who held them to just 229 yards and turned in a couple of critical interceptions.
The Alabama Offense was kept out of the end zone for most of the first half, but they appeared to be unstoppable in the second half, shutting out the Spartans, 38 to 0.
That means it will be Alabama and Clemson playing for the national title on January 11th.
