KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Slippery conditions, spinning tires and built-up sleet are being blamed for a fire that totaled a car in Kalamazoo.
It happened at around 10 p.m. Monday as the driver attempted to pull into his driveway, forcing a closure of Pearl Street between West Lovell and West Cedar streets in the Vine Neighborhood.
The accumulated ice caused the car to get stuck at the curb. The driver then stepped on the vehicle’s gas pedal, which caused it to overheat.
No injuries were reported.
