DEARBORN (WKZO-AM) — The average price for a gallon of gas in Michigan is up eight cents this week.
AAA spokesperson Susan Hiltz said holiday travel pushed the statewide mark to $1.91.
“We had over three million Michiganders who were traveling, a majority of them by car,” Hiltz said. “So, we definitely had more demand for gas.”
But she also said prices should be lower to start 2016.
“We should be seeing those prices continue to drop into the coming year,” Hiltz said. “Demand for gas is still dropping, and we’re still in a glut of oil across the world.”
Hiltz said, compared to this time last year, fuel is still about 16 cents a gallon cheaper.
