KENT COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — An apparent suicide victim and her two young children have been found along a trail near Lincoln Lake.
The discovery was made by someone walking their dog Saturday morning. The person who discovered the scene found a car that was still running, a five-month-old boy strapped into a baby seat, and a woman on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head.
A three-year-old girl was also lying on top of her.
They believe the three-year-old girl caught a fragment of the bullet that killed her mother, but it did not penetrate the skull. She is expected to make a full recovery after treatment for the wound and hypothermia.
The five-month-old inside the warm car was fine.
