PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — Portage Public Safety is urging people to keep their cars and trucks locked after eight vehicle break-ins were reported in an upscale neighborhood near West Lake.
Officers began their investigation after responding to a vehicle burglary in the 1700 block of Lakeview Drive at around 5 a.m. At least seven additional reports were fielded on Charles Street and Fallow Drive, according to a press release.
They say the thief did not force entry into any of the targeted vehicles and also entered a garage.
A string of similar thefts were reported earlier this week in the Mattawan, Lawton and Paw Paw areas.
