PAW PAW (WKZO-AM) — With the increased foot and road traffic just about everywhere over the holidays, Michigan State Police are urging people to “say something” if they “see something” suspicious.
They’re building off the success of the agency’s “See Something, Say Something” initiative.
Lt. Dale Hinz says officers want Michiganders to be vigilant after the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif.
“Large-scale incidents like that can happen in any community,” Hinz said. “So, we just want people to be aware.”
He’s asking people to develop an ability to spot things that just don’t seem right.
“Unattended objects or something that seems out of place, especially in crowded or public areas, individuals exhibiting strange or abnormal behavior, strong chemical odors, or someone entering or exiting blocked or unauthorized areas,” Hinz said.
Hinz says, if you see any of that, call 911 immediately.
