LANSING (WKZO-AM) — State Sen. John Proos, R-St. Joseph, says he supports legislation approved earlier this month that would outlaw so-called “revenge porn.”
That’s when somebody posts naked and previously private shots of a former boyfriend or girlfriend online after breaking up.
Proos says no such statute is currently on the books.
“The Michigan Senate, in a bipartisan way, Republicans and Democrats, have agreed to send to the House of Representatives that makes it illegal without the consent of another individual,” Proos said.
There are two bills in the package. Both are currently being considered by the House.
