SILVER CREEK TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — The Cass County Sheriff Office says a mother and her toddler had to be taken by ambulance to a hospital after a solo-vehicle crash in Silver Creek Township.
Deputies say 27-year-old Samantha Weaver struck a utility box and a tree after swerving to avoid a deer near Brosnan Road and Downey Street before 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The current condition of both victims isn’t known.
Investigators don’t believe alcohol played a role in the wreck. Both were wearing seat belts, but the child was not properly restrained.
