VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO-AM) — A Gobles teenager is jailed after trying to use a false identity during a traffic stop.
Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies say they pulled over a car for an improper license plate on South State Street in Gobles on Wednesday. The teen behind the wheel had no driver’s license, allegedly giving the officer a phony name.
It was a name another deputy recognized, because 19-year-old Kane Trevino has used it before. When they ran his real name through the computer, they found multiple warrants for aggravated assault, domestic assault and for failure to appear from two other counties.
He is being held in a jail in Van Buren County, pending a review of his arrest file by the prosecutor’s office. The prosecutor may come up with additional charges for providing false information to police.
