KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — It’s one of the most-dangerous corners in Kalamazoo, and it was the apparent scene of another shooting Sunday.
Kalamazoo Public Safety responded to 911 reports of multiple shots fired in the 800 block of Woodbury Avenue near Ada Street before 4 a.m. Sunday.
They found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest lying in the curb lawn. He was rushed to the emergency room at Bronson Methodist Hospital where he was admitted for emergency surgery.
The victim is now in serious but stable condition.
There were no reports of any disturbances, parties or disagreements leading up to the shooting.
Detectives are investigating but, so far, have made no arrests.
The Woodbury Avenue, Ada Street and Burell Street area has been the scene of multiple shootings and assaults over the past several years.
