UNDATED (WKZO-AM) — Seven hospitals in west Michigan will lose one percent of their federal Medicare reimbursement next year because of higher-than-allowed levels of infection and other hospital-acquired conditions.
Twenty-five hospitals in Michigan made that list, including Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids and Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Smaller medical facilities include Three Rivers Hospital and Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall.
Hospital officials say the statistics are old. They also say practices have since been improved to eliminate threats to patients.
