KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety says the passenger of a car is jailed after opening fire at a trailing vehicle with a handgun.
It happened after 8 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was following the car down Ada Street when a 27-year-old man jumped outside and began firing rounds in front of first-responding officers near Simpson Street.
The gunman was captured on West North Street after fleeing the scene on foot.
The driver remains at large after the suspect vehicle drove away.
The victim told 911 dispatchers that he thought money was stolen from his vehicle, which prompted the pursuit.
