KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — Western Michigan University will come to the aid of students at Miller College in Battle Creek, which will be closing at the end of next June.
The WMU Board of Trustees has pledged its support to help Miller students finish their degrees. It came hours after the college disclosed to staff and students that recently-discovered financial issues will force them to end operations within the next decade.
The college was established to help students in business, nursing, arts and sciences, education and nursing complete their degrees while working full-time or part-time.
WMU is pledging to offer a teach-out program to help students who are close to degree completion. The college had about 200 students this fall.
