DEARBORN (WKZO-AM) — Michigan no longer has the cheapest gas in the country, but AAA says motorists can expect fuel prices to remain reasonable through the holidays.
“Michigan’s average daily statewide gas price is sixth-lowest in the nation,” AAA spokesperson Susan Hiltz said. “And, according to some of our recent information, Michigan ranks second in the nation for the largest yearly decline.”
Hiltz said the statewide average should remain flat or edge lower from its current mark of $1.84 a gallon.
“If continues this way with the oversupply of crude oil, we should continue the downward trend,” Hiltz said.
Per GasBuddy.com, fuel in Kalamazoo is selling for about $1.83 right now. They also say gas prices in the Kalamazoo have been trending lower since last week’s 21-cent spike.
